Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU first?

For visually demanding games and higher resolutions, GPU upgrades often have the larger effect. For high-refresh competitive gaming or CPU-heavy games, the CPU can matter more.

What to check

Use FrameForecast's FPS estimator and compatibility warnings as a starting point, then verify the specifications of your exact PC and any component you plan to buy. Game patches, drivers, cooling, background applications and settings can all affect real performance.

How FrameForecast can help

Compare hardware in the FPS estimator, run the PC benchmark on a desktop or laptop, and review the upgrade suggestions and compatibility warnings before deciding which component is worth changing.
